Commercial EICR

It is mandatory for commercial property’s electrics to be periodically tested and inspected. How often depends on the building’s age, use and general condition and we’re happy to give you advice if you’re unsure.

Unlike residential properties, if annual inspections are arranged, sampling 20% of circuits, rather than 100% can be permitted. If EICRs are not carried out annually then 100% of circuits are required to be tested. We always conduct an initial survey to decide how many circuits to test, or we can sometimes base that decision on up-to-date digital pictures of the property’s fuse boards.

Our tests go beyond a simple visual inspection. Specialist machines test the complete integrity of the electrical circuits to the latest wiring regulations.

How long does it take?

This would depend on the size of the property.
We’ll need to power-down certain sections. Convenient times can be arranged to minimise disruption. We’ll need access to rooms to check sockets and electrical items.

What do the results reveal?

You’ll receive a full EICR certificate and a written report with our findings and details of any remedial works required. We present these in order of importance, along with a breakdown of costs and a recommended timescale to complete. You should receive your report within three working days.
